Horse Judging Career Development Event
Watching Cara roping calves.
Our vet did a farm call. He was checking if our horse's stomach was twisted and if he felt anything unusual.
This picture is of one of our brood mares and her filly.  (brood mare is a mare used just to raise colts)
The first day we visited the Dear Trail Rodeo - excited and jetlagged we got all the information we needed by FFA.

This is the  same filly, I'm gentling her so she'll be used to human contact and easier to work with when she's old enough to saddle and ride

He is blowing into the tube to get the lubricant to go through.
He then puts some water through the tube to get all the lubricant out of the tube.

The lubricant was to help everything in his stomach to move through. He was checking to see if it was coming through. The next day none of it came through, so he came back and put him down.

Before milking the horse I see if there's enough food for the horse.
The mare eat's concentrate during the milking proces.
Cleaning the teats because we don't want to have mud or manure in the milk.

Both – Lysbeth and Cara are well skilled horse riders and since they are from different nationalities they can learn a lot from each other.

After milking I prepare the milk machine for the cleaning process.
Milking horses. We had this rare opportunity to take a look at a horse farm. These farms,  where horses are milked are really uncommon.
The milk is being used for medical purposes, since horse milk has special characteristics.
On the end of the day the foals go to there mother and they stay with her for the whole night.
